Privacy FAQ

1. Why does Loadchief need my location?

Location data is essential for the core functionality of our marketplace.

  • For Independent Contractors: We collect precise location data to provide Shippers and Delivery Companies with real-time updates on shipment progress and to confirm successful pickups and deliveries.
  • Control: You can choose to share your location only while using the app, but please note that turning off location services during an active load may result in payment delays or contract non-compliance.

2. Does Loadchief sell my personal information?

No. Loadchief does not sell your personal data to third parties for money. We only share data with service providers (like payment processors or map services) and our business partners (Shippers and Delivery Companies) to the extent necessary to complete the transportation services you are involved in.

3. Who can see my personal details?

  • Shippers and Delivery Companies: Can see your name, vehicle information, and real-time location when you are assigned to their specific load.
  • Payment Processors: See your banking or payment information to ensure you get paid.
  • Loadchief Admin: Our support team can access your data only to resolve technical issues or investigate safety disputes.

4. How long do you keep my data?

We retain your information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you Services. Because we operate in a regulated industry, we are required by law to keep certain records (like Bill of Ladings, insurance documents, and payment records) for up to seven years for tax and legal compliance.

5. Can I delete my data?

Yes. You may request the deletion of your account at any time by contacting Support. Please note that we may be legally required to retain certain transaction data (such as proof of delivery or tax records) even after your account is closed.

6. How does Loadchief protect my information?

We use industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) for data in transit and secure cloud storage for data at rest. We also implement strict internal access controls so that only employees who “need to know” can access sensitive user information.

7. What if I have more questions?

We are here to help. You can reach our dedicated privacy team at [Insert Email Address, e.g., [email protected].
